PUBLICITY LEADS

What do I need to have ready responding to publicity leads?

Before you respond to a publicity lead, you want to make sure that you have the following in place: Time to respond to journalists right away. You need easy access to your email account that you pitch from, and the flexibility to stop what you are doing and respond. Journalists are on tight timelines and your availability and responsiveness is essential. The early bird get's the press! A website with a news/media/press page to post links to your press coverage. This is also the place where you'll want to include your bio, downloable brand photos, and contact information so journalists can research you before accepting your response or pitch. A website is also the best central place to capture leads from people who found you through the article or broadcast. If you don't already own your name as a domain, (like TaiishaBradley.com) I recommend you head to Namecheap to buy it today for as low as $.88 for the year!
An email list so that you can collect email addresses of people interested in connecting or keeping in touch with you. I recommend MailerLite for email newsletters and more! I provide both live and video tutorials on MailerLite email marketing for members. A product or service available and ready to purchase – expect to get an influx of traffic to your website from potential customers ready to buy your products or sign up for your services
Patience is the #1 way to earn publicity! Pitching media is not something you do here and there, it's an ongoing effort that requires persistence and patience. Small opportunities build and prepare you for larger opportunities. Media begets media!

Do you provide guidance or help with pitches?

In addition to giving you access to sample pitches that I've drafted, I'm also giving access to actual pitch copy that I've used to get featured in places like Forbes, Business Insider, and The Washington Post. In the MEDIA LOUNGE, you can post your pitch copy for peer review and feedback. You'll find me in the Media Lounge as well chiming in too! If you want me to provide individual feedback on your pitch, you'll need to schedule some time on my calendar!

What industries does this cover?

I share publicity opportunities from hundreds of thousands of journalists that cover nearly every industry like: Business, Tech, Education, Arts, Entertainment, Family, Relationships, Medical, Mental Health, Finance, Startups and more. Before you pitch a podcast host, you want to make sure that you have the following in place:

A website is also the best central place to capture leads from people who hear your podcast episode.
An email list so that you can collect email addresses of people interested in connecting or keeping in touch with you. I recommend MailerLite for email newsletters and more! MEMBERSHIP

Can I be located anywhere in the world?

Absolutely! You can be located ANYWHERE in the world and as long as you have a stable internet connection. I post publicity leads from media outlets in the US and UK.

I love this, but why should I have to pay for this service?

I spend hours each day to find, research, and post publicity leads, podcast leads, media kits, media contacts, and media logos to the website. I spend weeks each quarter planning video content, recording, and editing tutorials to keep you supported. I make myself available weekly for pitch reviews and other 1:1 support services for clients like you. I have spent 6 years and 6 figures in Public Relations and Marketing degrees, coupled with 20+ years working for corporations and nonprofits. Now, I am entreprenuer, just like you, and I would go out of business if I didn't charge a monthly fee for my expertise, time and resources. Because of the unique structure of my publicity program, the monthly subscription fee is extremely affordable and "do-able" compared to what you would pay a boutique firm or an agency. Most publicists or agencies require a minimum of $2500 per month retainer to even consider taking on a client. Plus, we want to work with entrepreneurs who are committed and willing to invest in their success. Studies show that less than 20% of utilize a resource if it's free, but more than 90% utilize a resource that they pay for. The resources and support here at TaiishaBradley.com can open a new world of possibilities for my clients, so your investment of time and money in your business is a solid way to hold yourself accountable to your goals. I also understand that not everyone is able to invest for this service right now. While I can certainly empathize, it’s important for me to work with clients who are both able, as well as willing, to invest in their business. And honestly, those are the clients who will have the most success with this service. If you are not yet able to invest marketing dollars into publicity, please subscribe to my YouTube channel for content to help you begin to prepare your business for publicity, and to learn to research and pitch media on your own.

MEDIA KITS

What is a Media Kit?  What is an Editorial Calendar?

Magazine media kits are prepared by the publication to help potential advertisers target their ads. The kits typically inclue an Editorial Calendar, aka Edit Cals (which are commonly available in December) to let you know what each issue in the upcoming year will feature to help you plan your publicity. Know exactly what to pitch and when! Here is an example of a Media Kit: O Magazine Kit 2020 Here is an example of an Editorial Calendar: HGTV Edit Calendar 2021 And just so you know, I regularly post tutorial videos on how to reach and use each media kit and editorial calendar in the Media Library. I include pitch notes (secret tips to make your pitches more personal to the journalist) along with all available public contact information information for the publication and editorial team.

What is a Media List?

A media list is a living list of journalist contact information. Most the media kits or editorial calendar in the library includes the name and *email address of the appropriate contact to pitch for the publication and Twitter handles. (Journalists love to hang out on Twitter!) You can save email addresses from Media Kits/Edit Cals) to your business email for future use. Note: *I am only legally allowed to share public email addresses for the media lists. Double Note: Saving email addresses from HARO leads is prohibited by HARO/Cision.

What if a Magazine or Journal Media Kit I'm Looking for Isn't Available?

I am always updating our database of media kits and editorial calendars. There are some outlets that do not have current media kits, so we have included the most recent one for your reference. There may be media kits for publications that I have missed, or are working on obtaining directly from the publisher. If an outlet is not in our list (big or small) your membership is nonrefundable and you can cancel anytime without further billing after your paid term ends. Because I want you to have what you need, you can request that I add a media kit/editorial calendar. I cannot guarantee that it will be made available, but I guarantee that I will try. Click the FEEDBACK button on the website to make a request or suggestion.
